1Who we are

Dogs Life Raw Food (“we”, “us”) is a local supplier of raw dog and cat food, delivered across Horley, Crawley, Redhill, Reigate and Horsham. We are the “controller” of your personal information, which means we decide how and why it is used.

Address: Dogs Life Raw Food, 259 Balcombe Road, Horley, Surrey, RH6 9EF
Email: info@dogsliferawfood.co.uk
Phone: 07971 980071

We follow the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as updated by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.

2The information we collect
  • When you order or create an account: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address, delivery notes, the items you order, your subscription schedule and your order history.
  • When you pay: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and bank payments are handled by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number or security code. We keep a record that a payment was made, the amount and, for saved cards, the card type and last four digits.
  • When you contact us by the website message form, email, phone or Facebook: your name, contact details and what you tell us.
  • Technical information when you visit the website: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and roughly how you arrived (for example from a search or a link), and security logs such as failed login attempts.
  • Reviews: we show reviews customers have left on Google, using the first name they gave.

We do not ask for “special category” information about you, such as health details.

4Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We deliver locally in our own vehicles, so your address is not passed to courier companies. We only share what is needed with the people who help us run the business (“processors”), who must protect it and use it only on our instructions:

  • Payment providers: Stripe, PayPal and Trustly, who process your payment under their own privacy policies.
  • Website hosting, security and backups: WP Engine (hosting), Wordfence (security) and our website backup service.
  • Email delivery: our email service provider, which sends order emails and replies from the website.
  • Site statistics and image delivery: Google (Google Analytics) and Automattic (Jetpack), see section 7.
  • Professional advisers and authorities: our accountants and, where the law requires, HMRC, the police or other authorities.

Our staff may view your account and basket as you would see it when they are helping you with an order.

5Transfers outside the UK

Some of the companies above (for example Google, Stripe, PayPal and Automattic) may process information in countries outside the UK, including the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by a safeguard approved under UK law, such as the UK-US data bridge or the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

6Keeping your information safe

The website uses HTTPS encryption, payments are handled by regulated providers, and access to our systems is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information protected and will tell you and the Information Commissioner’s Office if a breach puts your rights at risk.

7Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. The law (PECR) lets us use some without asking you because they are needed to provide the service you ask for. For others we need your consent, or must give you a simple way to say no.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers an opt-out for Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking the necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout working.

8Marketing

We only send marketing emails or texts if you have asked us to, or in line with the “soft opt-in” rules for existing customers, and every message has a simple way to unsubscribe. Order and delivery messages are not marketing, so you will still get them. We also post offers on our Facebook page, which is covered by Facebook’s own privacy policy.

9Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • have wrong or incomplete information corrected;
  • ask us to delete your information (we may have to keep order and tax records for the legal period);
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests or for marketing;
  • receive information you gave us in a portable, commonly used format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, email info@dogsliferawfood.co.uk. We will normally reply within one month, and we do not charge a fee. We may need to check who you are before we release information.

10Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please tell us first at info@dogsliferawfood.co.uk, by phone on 07971 980071, in writing or by message on our Facebook page. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it without undue delay and tell you the outcome.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.

11Children

Our website is for adults buying food for their pets. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has given us information, please tell us and we will delete it.

13Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practices or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make an important change, we will say so on the website.
